What a great idea, in a world where there is so much hate, violence this is good to see. Start teaching children to work together, create harmony and nurture great young people. As others have said should be across all states, and aim for an Australian gathering.

The children love being part of this massed choir experience. It is such a friendly, happy, non-competitive and enjoyable atmosphere that they want to be part of it every year.

From a teacher perspective, I have found that the songs provide a solid body of work to use with the students. Some of the songs are also suitable to use in a class setting. I have found that the students appreciate the more technical songs and love the challenge. The PD’s are a delight to go to – not all PD’s are like that. To participate in singing with other music teachers and to challenge oneself with new songs is wonderful. The networking that goes on is also very useful.

What a brilliant music festival, showcasing the talents of so many children. The parents were so impressed and said it was so wonderful — a highlight of the school year. We will definitely be part of this festival next year. Thanks to the committee who made this magical event possible.

Being involved in OBV for my choir is wonderful as we come from a small country town, and it gives my students the opportunity to sing with other schools which is something that cannot happen at home. They are all so keen to sing the songs which are all positive songs and every single one of my choir students loves being involved in this event.

Thank you for all the hard work that you all put in to make such a fabulous event happen! Performing in such a huge event was extremely special for our students and their families.
